Crocuses!

Wednesday 6:22 p.m.
What a lovely day it was today! How pleased I was to see the crocuses bursting out in Inverleith Park on my way to the allotment. I did my first wee dig of the season.
This feels like a much better time for me than last week, or for weeks and weeks before. I haven't seen anyone other than the Domestic Bliss since Saturday. I'm not drinking or smoking. My meditations are making it all worth while. It is hard work all this self improvement, but it's bound to be. Thriving on it today anyway!

Yeah some signs of spring, finally.

Great pics, it was decent here too.

When chilly Jockland declares UDI, can everyone expect many more fiascos such as the Edinburgh trams, which someone estimated are costing £100,000 per metre (that's Pounds, not Zims), and how are you anticipating that you will get your snout into the short-lived gravy train before it all ends in tears?

Mingin'! Personally, I'm happy to leave the organisation of my life to my betters and those who can afford to get their kids into Eton. Chilly Jockoland will have free beer for the workers as soon as the evil bourgeois have been put to the sword! Hotboy

We've seen it all, hereabouts, many times.

A chap with a little aura and often a pot belly manages to persuade the more gullible sections of the electorate, and especially those who haven't voted before and who don't know any better, to ellect a new government that is based on getting rid of what they say are the nasties.

"We'll all be rich and prosperous" they claim, as we won't have the nasties any more, telling us what to do.

Along the way, they often make up a false history, to help their cause.

After a few years, when some of them ARE rich, they get their snouts out of the trough and take off to some nice part of the world where they've cunningly stashed their wedges, leaving behind a big mess and a lot of poorer people.

They blame the mess on what they inherited from the nasties. "It wisnae us!" they claim.

This is still the claim in Zim, 30 years after the event.

It will all end in tears, mark my words.

And there's always someone else who's to blame, when it comes to nationalism, isn't there?

Last century it was the Jews, or the evil bourgeois, or the colonials.

And then Idi blamed the Asians and turfed them out (the economy promptly collapsed).

In Zim it's now the gays that Mugabe hates, and they are not doing too well hereabouts as well.

And what with the snips being almost solely financed by Souter, you must be fearful for all your many gay friends, are you not?

I expect that he'll be giving back the knighthood that he previously bought.

I certainly wouldn't want to be a gay black Jew from Poland when Snouter...sorry, Souter...is officially pulling the strings.

I say old bean,

Frightfully sorry about the outbursts today. I've just discovered that Doviko has been on the dagga and has been serving me pure gin all afternoon, and Mrs M pure tonic.

I should have realised that something was wrong when she could still remember what day it is.

Mingers says it much better than I could. Not sure if it helps you though.

Albert? Old folk are pro-union. It's the hardening of the arteries, I think. Interestingly enough, the posh boy PM has told us we'll get more powers if we vote no to independence. Alec Douglas Home did the same thing at the referendum in the 70s. Lying basturns!! Shame so it is that you Scottishy folk who don't live here don't get the vote. Hotboy p.s. I'm voing the same way Robert Burns would have voted!

Albert? Why doesn't the stupid camera take flowers? Must be on cloud focus or something! Hotboy

Hotters. Most cameras have a Macro setting but you'd have to know how to switch it. Maybe yours is the one model that doesn't have Macro, in which case it might be worth something as an antique.

First thing they should do after independence is cancel the passports of all jocko exiles like Albert.

Surely the new country will be all unbalanced without Rangers?

Where Albert lives, they're smart enough always to design and phrase the referendum form so a yes vote's unlikely.

Albert? What do a macro thing do?

rob said...

Most digital cameras have a macro mode feature that can be useful for close-up shots. This setting is usually indicated by a flower icon inside the camera’s menu settings on the camera dial settings.
