More great skies today!

Tuesday 5.30 p.m.
I started the day by reading a review of the book about the bliss, which was an absolute stinker. Never had a review for anything from someone who liked it less. It was so bad it was almost good!! Couldn't believe the woman has hated it so much and read it all. It was anonymous of course and she had no other reviews to her name, so at first I thought it might be someone from my old jobbie, but she made a sort of anti-Scottish jibe in it, so it can't be someone who knows me!
What do you think of that, Jack? Well, Hotboy, some folk don't get irony or satire for that matter. That's the internet for you, I suppose. C'est la vie.
I was up the allotment this afternoon, digging and planting. I should be finished with the digging and planting by next Wednesday, and then we'll see what has to be done. I must say it's been killing me!! There's been a lot of couch grass to get rid of and the digging has been even harder than usual.
But today I was thinking that I'm really happy at the moment. This might become the best year I've had since 1988, but I thought that last year and then the Newmains thing happened. But so far so good.
                               The skies were gobsmacking today.

I say!

Well, the reviewer was accurate about there being one or two typos, so it may be a librarian.

But as you say, the reviewer obviously hasn't understood the irony and various other things. And he/she probably has a very stereotyped interpretation of meditation/Buddhism etc. And probably expects a storyline that slowly progresses from a to be to c to d all the way through to the end.

I fail to understand how anyone could not find it funny.

Even Abdul was rolling on his back laughing when Doviko told him the storyline!

Mingin'! The reviewer has a flexible nom de plume, so she probably does yoga of some kind. I refused to look at the book again after I finished it because when I worked on it I used to get furious (I did care about how kids got a crap deal at our schools!), but the agent didn't notice the typos and he sent it to everyone. Also, the consiglieri probably had a look at it before he uploaded it. So I didn't do any rechecking. But there's always typos. She just hated it. Weird to keep reading something you dislike so much. I think she might be a school teacher!! It's not your normal novel so lots of folk are sure not to like it. Obviously the wrong audience. Weird really! Hotboy p.s. I didn't find it at all funny!!!

At least you got a strong reaction. Nothing wrong with that. Why would you want everyone to like you?

Albert? It's nothing to do with liking me! I write fiction, even if some of it is semi-autobiographical. It's not "me" that's in the book. It's just odd to me that someone would spend Saturday evening fuming over a book. She got it as a free download since the sales for that are zilch. It's really not a book for everyone. And is very insulting to the too dumb to meditate! Hotboy
